State police are investigating an altercation between Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse and another man.
They've been asked by Cohoes police to get involved with the incident, which apparently took place at the mayor's residence Friday night.
According to the Times-Union Justin Rodriguez of Troy went to Morse's house to retrieve some clothing.
Morse's attorney says Rodriguez threatened the mayor at which point Morse grabbed him and pushed him off the front porch.
Morse tells reporters he pushed Rodriguez out of the way so that he could close his door, but said no one was hurt.
Rodriguez disputes the account, saying Morse "grabbed him out of nowhere."
It’s not clear if charges will be filed.
Morse has been the focus of multiple criminal investigations into allegations of violence over the past several years.
