An off-duty Albany police officer involved in a fatal shooting in Utica.
Utica police say Albany police officer Christofer Kitto shot and killed a man who pulled a knife on him and was demanding money around 5 Monday morning.
They say Kitto was in the process of soliciting a prostitute from 35-year-old Shatelle Hooks of Syracuse.
The deal turned sour, police say that's when Hooks pulled a knife and came at Kitto. Utica police have said the shooting was justified, but have charged Kitto with patronizing a prostitute.
He's been placed on administrative leave, and is facing an internal investigation in Albany.
