Troy Homicide

The first homicide of the year in Troy.

Police say the body of a woman, identified as Brianna Haughton of Schodack, was found Sunday afternoon at a house in the 400 block of Pawling Avenue.

Police say they responded to a call for a welfare check around 5:30 pm, and found the body.

Social media rumors about a missing child have been dispelled, as police say the child has been found safe.

Police cordoned off Pawling from Spring Avenue to Gregory Court Sunday night.

Police have identified a person of interest in the homicide.

Police say he and the victim knew each other.
