Emotions ran high at a first court appearance for one of two people charged in connection with a fatal shooting on Park Avenue in Albany back in November.
Shamel Rush and Isis Knight both entered not guilty pleas to murder charges in the death of Tyson Williams, but Knight found herself in a shouting match with members of the victim's family.
After the hearing, Williams' mother, Lea Johnson, told reporters she did the best she could to protect her son.
The 22-year-old Williams was shot a number of times while he was sitting in his car, and died a few days later at Albany Med.
Rush and Knight are both behind bars in Albany County.
