Tentative Approval of Replacement Funding for Albany Fire Department

Albany Fire Department

Consider it a helping hand for the Albany Fire Department.

A Common Council committee has approved funding for some aging emergency vehicles and a 13-year-old rescue apparatus.

Fire Chief Joe Gregory says he feels they've justified the need for everything, and it's getting too expensive to fix up what they have.

Gregory adds their fire-fighting apparatus is on the road constantly, and it takes a beating.

Funding mechanism still has to be approved by the full council.

That could happen as soon as Thursday evening.
