Second Case of "Grey Death" Heroin Found in Albany County Jail

Gray Death Heroin

For the second time in recent weeks, an especially deadly type of heroin has found its way into the Albany County Jail.

Sheriff Craig Apple says 29-year-old Kirsten Garner of Albany was being held for a few hours while awaiting a court appearance on drug charges out of Colonie.

But, authorities found she had a heroin-fentanyl mix known as "Grey Death" on her.

Apple adds this mixture can kill you, and quickly.

Apple says this appears to be the same drug that was involved in the recent fatal overdose of another inmate.

It's been linked to a number of overdose deaths in other parts of the country.
