Troy City Council Starts Process to Replace Mark McGrath

Troy City Council members are looking for a process to replace former councilman Mark McGrath, who resigned earlier this week after a three-year-old voice mail surfaced in which he made racist remarks.

Councilman David Bissember says the city charter is clear on the way forward, which is to have the full council vote on a candidate.

Still, some at Thursday night's meeting from McGrath's District 2 say they don't feel the council truly represents them.

Bissember says he's hoping to have a candidate in place by the next meeting in March.
