Man Shot in Albany Charged With Having a Handgun & Firing it

Albany police now say a 19-year-old man who was shot Friday evening on Third Street has been charged for having a handgun and firing it during the incident.

Police responded to the area of Third at North Manning after they were told shots were fired.

Shortly afterward, police say Jamir Hartfield entered the ER with a gunshot wound to the leg.

He was treated at the hospital and taken into custody on weapons charges.

Hartfield also charged with another incident that happened on Anderson Avenue in early January.

Police say he damaged two vehicles by standing and jumping on their hoods.
