Snow, Slippery Roads Lead to Numerous Accidents

An overnight snowstorm led to some big problems on Capital region interstates this morning.

While we only got a couple of inches of snow, most roads were slippery and partially snow-covered at best. There were numerous spin-outs and fender-benders, and some big delays on the Northway after a series of crashes north and south of the Twin Bridges, including a multi-car pile-up in the area of Exit 5.

Most of the crashes were cleared out by mid-morning.

Traffic volume was lighter than usual, and most schools were closed today because of the President's Day holiday.
