Firefighter Josh Woodward Fights Back From Near Fatal Sepsis Infection

He's awake and aware.

An area firefighter who nearly died from a sepsis infection has now regained consciousness and is aware of his surroundings.

Josh Woodward's sister, Erica, says her brother's recovery has been remarkable.

Woodward has been at St. Peter's Hospital since February 7th, and at one point, was given just a 5% chance of survival after emergency surgery for sepsis.

His wife has been posting regularly on social media, and the story has gone viral across the country.

Erica Woodward-Strick says her brother isn't out of the woods, though.

He's still on dialysis, and doctors do have some concern about his hand.

Woodward is a firefighter at the airport, and also volunteers in Bethlehem.

Close to $100,000 has been raised on a Go Fund Me page.(Click here to donate)

Some companies are even making #WoodwardStrong products and giving the family 100% of the proceeds.
