The State Museum has confirmed that human remains found at a construction site in Lake George are linked to the Revolutionary War.
Eleven graves found at the site contained partial remains of 13 people, seven over age 20, six under 20.
Fragmentary remains of five others were unearthed by construction workers earlier this month.
Buttons found in one of the graves were from the First Pennsylvania Battalion, which historians say was in the Lake George area during the Revolutionary War.
According to the Times-Union that outfit was plagued by an outbreak of smallpox, and many died at a hospital at the southern end of the lake.
Analysis of the remains could take several months.
