Body Pulled From Pickup Driven Into the Mohawk River

For the second time in recent years, firefighters and police divers had to pull a body from the Mohawk River near the Crescent Bridge in Halfmoon.

And officials say it appears the driver deliberately drove his pickup truck into the river.

The body of a Ballston Spa man was recovered mid-afternoon Tuesday.

Saratoga County Undersheriff Richard Castle says this happened along Terminal Road, a public area often used for fishing.

He says putting up a barrier is possible.

It’s not the first time this has happened.

A body and submerged vehicle was recovered from about the same spot in October of 2017.
