New Siena Poll Shows Voters Like Plastic Bag Ban But Not Cuomo Raise

A new Siena poll says permanent property tax cap and plastic bag ban are good, but a mugshot ban and a raise for Governor Cuomo is bad.

The poll examines New York voters' views on several budget issues.

A strong majority, 64%, think making the 2% tax cap permanent will be good for the state.

62% feel the same about the ban on single-use plastic bags.

55% statewide approve of the elimination of cash bail for misdemeanors and non-violent felonies.

The numbers similar among upstate voters surveyed.

But, New Yorkers don't care for the idea of banning the release of mugshots of those arrested.

58% statewide say bad idea.62% of upstate voters don't like it.

There's little change in voters' attitudes about Gov. Cuomo, and those polled disapprove of Cuomo getting a raise by a close to two to one margin
