Man Who Intentionally Damaged College of St. Rose Computers Admits Guilt

There’s a guilty plea in the case of a man accused of intentionally damaging dozens of computers at the College of St. Rose.

27 year old Vishwanath Akuthota admits that on February 14th of this year he inserted a “USB Killer” device into the computers at various locations on campus.

His actions caused almost $60,000 in damage.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Akuthota admitted that he even recorded himself on his phone as he damaged the computers.

Akothota has agreed to pay restitution at sentencing.

He faces a fine of up to $250,000 and 10 years behind bars.
