State Attorney General Investigating Facebook

State Attorney General Letitia James is launching an investigation of Facebook.

She says she doesn't believe the social media site does enough to protect its users' data, adding the total number of people whose information was improperly obtained from e-mail contact databases may be in the hundreds of millions.

In a statement, James says it's time Facebook is held accountable for how it handles personal information, repeatedly demonstrating a lack of respect for consumers' information, while profiting from mining that data.

Facebook expects to be fined up to $ 5 billion by the Federal Trade Commission for privacy violations.
