New York Joins 43 Other States Accusing Drug Manufacturers of Price Fixing

New York State is among 44 alleging price fixing of generic drugs.

The prices to treat a variety of diseases from diabetes to multiple sclerosis were kept artificially high through price manipulation according to a release from Attorney General Letitia James.

The states say representatives for 20 drug manufacturers have systematically conspired to discourage competition through communications in emails, text messages and social gatherings that they should be "responsible competitors" and "play nice in the sandbox."James describes the behavior as "blatant anti-competitive conduct."
