Saratoga County Hit & Run Destroys Girl Scout Food Pantry Project

Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is looking into last week's hit & run crash in Middle Grove, west of Saratoga Springs, which destroyed a project designed by two 14-year-old Girl Scouts.

It's called a "blessing box," a 24/7 food pantry, where people could take what they needed and donate what they could.

It stood in front of the Middle Grove United Methodist Church.Avery Welch and Katrina Larsen came up with the idea, built the box and collected donations.

Deputies now think the incident may have been intentional.

The two girls, and their adviser, Lisa Biss, are promising to rebuild the blessing box and restock it.

Biss says it's very disappointing.

Avery and Katrina are looking for help with donations.
