83 Priests in Albany Diocese Accused of Sexual Abuse Over 60 Year Span

A New York City attorney has released the names of 83 priests from the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese who he says have sexually abused children over the past six decades.Jeff Anderson has been working on clergy sex abuse cases for years.

One of the survivors, Jeanne Marron, says she was abused by Brother James Vincent Hanney when she was 15 years old and a student at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons, and the diocese was not responsive to her story.

She says she's speaking out because she hopes her words will help other survivors tell their stories.

Anderson says the Child Victims Act that was signed by Gov. Cuomo will help people coming forward to talk about their stories.

Albany Roman Catholic Diocese released a statement saying it stands with the survivors of abuse, but takes exception to Anderson saying the Diocese is still adhering to secrecy.

Diocese says Bishop Edward Scharfenberger has been a leader in bringing justice to survivors.
