That Construction Worker Might Be a Trooper During "Operation Hardhat"

While people are traveling on vacation, and road construction projects are in full swing, a combined new initiative hopes to crack down on work zone violations.

"Operation Hardhat" has state police trying a new technique in cracking down on reckless driving in work zones.

Troopers will be working directly with the state Department of Transportation, in some cases troopers may be dressed as DOT workers, looking for speeders, those who won't move over when required, or who are texting while driving.

State police want to highlight the importance of safe driving through active construction and maintenance work zones on state highways.
