The issue with the South Troy pool, and the fallout from a 2016 officer-involved shooting, were just two of the big topics at Tuesday night's mayoral debate in Troy.
Incumbent Democrat Patrick Madden, Republican Tom Reale, and independent Rodney Wiltshire all spoke before about 100 people at the Lansingburgh Boys & Girls Club.
On the subject of the pool, which has now been closed for three years, Madden told the crowd he thinks it's better to think in the long-term.
On the subject of the shooting of Edson Thevenin, and subsequent reports disputing findings of an internal affairs report, Madden said there was no cover-up, but Reale says that's what people are thinking.
As for Wiltshire, he says that night "never should have happened."
