Teacher Gets Probation After Pleading Guilty to Accidentally Killing Wife

A Saratoga County man accused of unintentionally shooting and killing his wife last November has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of criminally negligent homicide and will not go to jail.

Eric Rosenbrock (left) was cleaning his nine millimeter handgun inside his Corinth home when the gun discharged, striking his wife, Ashley. He is on paid leave from his teaching job at Lake George high school. It will be up to the New York State Education Department to decide if Rosenbrock can keep his job after pleading.

Rosenbrock will be sentenced to five years probation.
