After nearly four years, the driver in a fatal crash in Halfmoon says she's not a monster and not a bad person, and is sentenced to one year in jail for leaving the scene of an accident.
Prosecutors say Maria Lentini struck and killed 30-year-old Patrick Duff along Kinns Rd in December of 2015, then drove off with Duff's body impaled in the windshield.
She then made 17 phone calls, but none to 911 to report the incident.
In court, Lentini said she was not in a right state of mind.
Lentini was first convicted in 2016, but was granted a new trial by an appeals court. Then, earlier this year, Judge Murphy disqualified the DA's office from prosecuting Lentini for a second time.
She pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge over the summer.
