Flu Season Returns to New York State

The State Health Commissioner has declared that flu is now prevalent in New York.

So far this season, 691 flu-related hospitalizations have been reported statewide and one flu-associated pediatric death.

Confirmed cases have hit 42 counties.

The announcement puts into effect a regulation requiring that healthcare workers who are not vaccinated against the flu wear surgical or procedure masks in areas where patients are typically present.
