Continued Calls in Albany to Ban Flavored Tobacco Products in NYS

Several groups will be coming together in Albany Monday to call on lawmakers to pass legislation banning the sale of flavored tobacco products.

Organizations that support the Flavors Hook Kids NY campaign says statistics show 80% of kids who have used tobacco started with a flavored product.

They also say tobacco use costs the state $10 billion a year in health care expenses while taking the lives of 23,000 New Yorkers.

The state previously tried to ban the sale of flavored vaping products, but it was struck down by a state Supreme Court judge.
