An Albany hotel and volunteers provide a respite for healthcare workers

A banner hangs inside the Hilton Garden Inn welcoming healthcare workers to Heroes Landing.

Weary healthcare workers near Albany Medical Center and St. Peters Hospital now have a place nearby to get some much-needed rest and comfort in between shifts. The Hilton Garden Inn, which is directly across from Albany Med, is now Heroes Landing. In a joint effort with SEFCU, BBL, CDPHP and MVP, medical professionals will be able to use the hotel as a respite from the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers from SEFCU will greet heroes, take their temperature and ask a few screening questions. Once inside, they will receive a care package and a warm meal and be given access to a room to decompress and recharge. Individuals and businesses who are interested in supporting Heroes Landing can email Helping@heroeslanding.org
