Three Arrested for Trying to Get Drugs Behind Bars in Albany County

Albany County Sheriffs arrested three people today for trying to get drugs into prison using a basketball.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says 33 year old Tashan Cook, 25 year old James Boon, and a 17 year old woman tried to throw a basketball over the fence at the Albany County correctional facility.

Sheriff Apple says the basketball was filled with marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

All three face felony charges for promoting prison contraband, among other charges.

Cook and Boon will be arraigned today. The 17 year old will appear at Albany County Probation at a later date.
