The latest Siena College Poll reveals New Yorkers opinions on various social justice and police-related issues.

By a 60% to 35% margin, New Yorkers say the recent killings of George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks "are part of a broader pattern of excessive police violence toward black people," rather than what are classified as ‘tragic isolated instances." 84% of those polled are in favor of creating a national database of police officer misconduct, and 81% support a federal law to ban the use of choke holds by the police. 70% of voters have a favorable view of their local police, while 22% have an unfavorable view.
