Saratoga Race Course Starts 2020 Season Thursday Without Fans

News 10 ABC

The 2020 season at Saratoga Race Course begins on Thursday, but there's one major change this year.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, there will be no fans allowed at the facility. Instead, they'll have to watch the races online courtesy of NYRA. The highlight of the meet is the Travers Stakes on August 8th. It's being run earlier than usual this year to avoid a scheduling conflict with the Kentucky Derby. The season will still wrap up on Labor Day.
