Amsterdam Man Charged With Unemployment Benefit Fraud

An Amsterdam man is under arrest, accused of stealing money from the CARES Act.

Attorney General Letitia James announcing on Monday the arrest of 66-year-old Robert Decker on charges stemming from his alleged theft of over $6,000 in unemployment benefits from the CARES Act. Decker was employed at National Home Exteriors, a Greene County home contractor, where between August and October he was paid over $18,000 at work while receiving as much as $800 a week in unemployment. Decker had recently been indicted in early October on 17 counts in a million dollar contractor scam.
