An Albany County community has declared a state of emergency due to the growing number of COVID-19 cases.

Guilderland officials say transmission of the virus is continuing at a rapid rate and more people are being taken to the hospital for treatment of the illness. The emergency order means town buildings and offices are closed, however parks are going to remain open. The state of emergency is set to last for at least 30 days.
