The state is facing the possibility of another shutdown if the spread of COVID-19 continues at its current rate.

Governor Cuomo says that means all nonessential businesses would be forced to close until things improve. Right now, the statewide coronavirus-positivity rate is sitting at 5.6 %, a big jump from just a few weeks ago. Hospital capacity is also a concern and the state Department of Health is already working on a plan to prevent overcrowding.
