Saratoga Hospital is receiving $35 thousand in grant money to help combat the opioid pandemic.

The grant money will be used to help fight opioid use and help patients transition from the hospital back to their homes. $25 thousand will go to Saratoga Hospital’s Interdisciplinary Opioid Management Program which helps monitor, manage and reduce the use of opioids for chronic pain relief. $10 thousand will go to the hospital’s inpatient transition program. The hospital says during the first year of the program, over half of the patients involved were gradually tapered off of opioids completely.
