Congresswoman Stefanik to Object to Electoral College Certification

Local Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is aligning herself with some Republican Members of Congress who will protest the continuing election procedures concerning the 2020 Presidential Election.

On Wednesday before a joint session of Congress, the Electoral College votes certified by each state will be counted. Individual lawmakers can object to Congress's certification and approval of the vote, and some GOP members of Congress are doing just that. Stefanik saying in a statement that she would object to the election results, "to protect our democratic process."

Stefanik has been one of President Trump's most vocal allies.
