The State Legislature voted to modify Governor Cuomo's Emergency Powers on Friday amid sexual harassment allegations and the on going nursing home scandal.

Friday afternoon the State Senate voted 43 to 20 to curb Cuomo's emergency pandemic powers. Later in the day, the State Assembly voted 107 to 43 to do the same.

Under the new legislation Cuomo will be blocked from issuing new directives. Cuomo still retains the power to make modifications and extensions to the hundreds of executive orders he issued this year.

Orders pertaining to and preserving the public health will continue.

Some Republican lawmakers are calling the Democratic bill "a sham".
