ATV And Dirt Bike Ban Signed in Albany

It is now official in the city of Albany.

A local law now in effect that will ban the use of ATVs and dirt bikes on public property, including parks. The new law will increase repossession fees and illegal use fines for a total of $3,000 per violation. The legislation also allows the city to sell or destroy repossessed vehicles unclaimed after 60 days. Mayor Kathy Sheehan Police chief Eric Hawkins and other city officials were greatly concerned with the steady increase of ATVs and dirt bikes in the city, and in some cases being driven through city parks and on sidewalks putting people in danger of being hit.
