New Yorkers who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus will only need to have a mask on at most places for one more day.

As of Wednesday, the state will be following federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance involving facial coverings. That means fully vaccinated people will no longer be required to wear masks inside or outside and those folks also don't have to follow social distancing protocols. However, businesses still have the authority to make their own rules. Masks will still be mandatory in places like schools and hospitals to prevent the spread of germs.
