An Albany man will be spending the next 11 years in state prison for his role in a brutal assault.

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Zamari Coffin attacked Vincent Stark with a skateboard while Stark was walking with a woman on Chestnut Street in 2019. Stark, who works as an assistant district attorney in Albany County, was left with serious head injuries and said in court Wednesday he will struggle with cognitive impairment for the rest of his life. Bruce Syrell, who was also involved in the beating, was previously sentenced to seven years behind bars.
