The State University of New York says plans are in the works to eliminate most of the debt students incurred during the COVID-19 crisis.

Officials say the program would provide millions of dollars in grant relief to students who struggled to pay their tuition and other fees. This week, Governor Cuomo announced a similar initiative for City University of New York schools. SUNY says it has already been providing help to students in the form of refunds and emergency grants.
