Governor Hochul and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand are pushing back on the recent Texas abortion ban.

On Monday, they were joined by elected officials, and dozens of leaders from the reproductive rights movement in New York City and called Texas' recent abortion ban quote "grotesquely unfair" and a "travesty." The governor says with this ruling, women across the country are confronted with the prospect that hard-won rights will now be shredded. Hochul also criticized Texas' six-week cutoff for abortion care, saying she didn't know she was pregnant with her first child at six weeks.
