Governor Hochul has decided to extend the state of emergency on gun violence for at least another few weeks.

The emergency declaration was made back in July by former Governor Andrew Cuomo and will stay in effect through November 22nd. The extension allows the state keep giving out millions of dollars in funding to support initiatives that are aimed at curbing gun violence. The money can be used for several things including job training, community engagement and intervention programs.
