For the first time in more than a decade, a Republican will be serving as the town supervisor in Colonie.

Peter Crummey cruised to an easy win over Democrat Kelly Mateja, meaning he'll get to replace incumbent town supervisor Paula Mahan next year. Mahan has had the job for 14 years but didn't run for re-election this year. Crummey is an attorney and has worked as a county legislator and town justice before seeking the town supervisor position.
