A state ethics commission in New York is revoking prior approval of former Governor Andrew Cuomo's book deal.

The move could threaten his $ 5.1 million profit for writing "American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic." Cuomo will have the opportunity to apply for a new approval and if one isn't granted, commissioners could then start the process of forcing him to repay the millions in profits. Cuomo's spokesperson is blasting the decision, saying the move "amounts to nothing more than Albany political corruption at his worst" and that no government resources were used to help write the book.
