A Johnstown deli owner will be spending the rest of his life behind bars for his role in the brutal death of an employee.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced 53-year-old Georgios Kakavelos after he was convicted earlier this year of killing 22-year-old Allyzibeth Lamont in 2019. Prosecutors say Kakavelos and James Duffy beat Lamont to death before dumping her body in a shallow grave near the Northway in Malta. Kakavelos was reportedly upset with Lamont because she was going to file a labor complaint against him for unpaid overtime. Duffy pleaded guilty to a murder charge and has been sentenced to 18-years to life in prison
