Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik will be voting against a new gun control bill from the Senate.

The bill, which was drafted by both Republicans and Democrats as a response to recent mass shootings in New York and Texas, would require more gun sellers to conduct background checks, and would increase penalties on gun traffickers. Stefanik says she will vote against the bill and will push for other solutions to mass shootings, like increased mental health resources.
