The state Department of Transportation says construction is getting underway on a brand new truck turnaround area along Glenridge Road in Glenville.

The goal of this project is to try and prevent large vehicles like tractor-trailers from hitting the Glenridge Road rail bridge. The turnaround is being installed 500 feet east of the railroad overpass and work is expected to be complete by the end of this year. Crews will be out on weekdays and as a result, Glenridge Road will be reduced to a single alternating lane.
