The Albany County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with UCM Digital Health to offer a brand-new telehealth service to residents.

Sheriff Craig Apple says the program will be available 24/7 and allow people to who are suffering from minor illnesses or injuries to speak with a doctor via videoconference. That medical professional can then refer the person for other treatment and also has the ability to request prescriptions from the individual's pharmacy. Sheriff Apple believes that this new service will improve patient care and also cut down on unnecessary emergency room visits.
