Investigation Underway Into Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Schaghticoke

An investigation is ongoing into a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on State Route 40 in Schaghticoke. On Saturday evening (February 28), around 7:40 p.m., New York State Police responded to a collision between a motorcycle and a car. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while no other injuries were reported.

The identity of the victim has not been released as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. According to a report by CBS6 Albany, the accident led to the closure of State Route 40 until approximately 11:30 p.m.

As reported by WNYT, the cause of the collision remains unclear, and authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward with information.

The Times Union noted that the investigation is being handled by Troop G of the New York State Police, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
