Earlier this month, Congressman Adam Schiff took a break from going after Trump to go after a different enemy: Anti-Vaccination propaganda.
In a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Schiff presented several pointed questions, asking if Amazon took paid advertising from Anti-Vax groups and if medically inaccurate material violates Amazon’s term of services. It sure seems like Schiff is trying to semi-publically embarrass Amazon for hosting anti-vax material.
It looks like it worked! As of now, if you search Prime Video for “vaccination” or “vaccines,” you will no longer get anti-vax documentaries for streaming. Looks like you can still buy hard copies of the stuff through regular Amazon though.
So far, I haven’t seen any response from the people behind these anti-vax films, including Andrew Wakefield, who made the infamous documentary “VAXXED: From Cover-Up To Catastrophe.
It will be interesting to see if other attempts at public pressure could cause Amazon to eliminate other kinds of controversial subject matter from their streaming service.
