Yeah, that was pretty corny.

Nevertheless, nearly 165,000 people want billionaire Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, to stay in space after he launched himself into orbit.

As of 12 p.m. Tuesday, when he blasted off, more than 164,000 signed a Change.org petition entitled, "Do not allow Jeff Bezos to return to Earth."

Bezos, the world's richest person, was set to launch into space on his company Blue Origin's first commercial flight.

"Billionaires should not exist... on earth, or in space, but should they decide the latter, they should stay there," snarked the petition.

The joking plea to keep Bezos from returning to Earth comes after a separate petition with the same stated goal racked up hundreds of thousands of signatures.

As of June 21, more than 20,000 people signed another petition, which is similarly titled "Petition To Not Allow Jeff Bezos Re-Entry To Earth."
