Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C. Co-Managing Partner, Rob Kind

Rob Kind is the Co-Managing Partner of Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, P.C. (TBC) in Albany, a CPA firm who has been serving the Capital Region for over 50 years. While TBC is in a transitional phase with Rob taking over, they have seen immense growth with their business over the last few years. TBC focuses on corporate accounting and taxation, audits of employee benefit plans, and pension administration.

While TBC has clients throughout the country thanks to the assistance of technology, a majority of their clients are located within the Capital Region. Being here in the Albany area has allowed them great networking opportunities with other local business owners.

They currently employ just over 100 employees out of one local office in Albany, NY. While other businesses are struggling to hire, TBC has been fortunate enough to see great retention of their employees. As the business grows, they understand the importance of developing new employees and one way they do this is through their Internship program. This year, they hired 20 interns, up from their traditional 6-8. They are using this opportunity to really develop these students by assigning them higher level work with mentorship. Rob is grateful for the next generation of employees and their experience with technology. As businesses are using more and more technology, it's not uncommon to find current employees reaching out to the younger staff accountants' for their new tips and tricks. This makes bridging the two generations into the workplace a great opportunity.

TBC finds it important to help their clients with things they may not be aware of. For example, during the pandemic, the Government offered a variety of credits, grants and loans to different types of businesses. TBC spent a lot of time sifting through these opportunities and making sure their clients knew about them. Rob estimates his clients received hundreds of millions of dollars in PPE loans and ERC credit during that time.
